President's Message
Welcome!Whether you are a student or an alum, a current parent or a prospective parent or simply a “net surfer,” I hope you will find your visit to our website both interesting and informative. Our goal is to keep the information current with regular updates about scheduled events, as well as late-breaking news. You can also treat yourself to a taste of Ramona by browsing through our photo album; while alumnae will soon be able to connect with friends through a dedicated on-line community portal.
Through our use of technology we model and demonstrate the importance of technology throughout our school – a necessity in the curriculum offered to today’s young women. For 120 years the Sisters of the Holy Names and their dedicated ministry partners have offered a quality Catholic education to the young women enrolled at Ramona. Our college placement rates, standardized test scores, recognized scholars, and achievements of our graduates offer testimony to the rigor of the curriculum and the caliber of our students. Having been a leader in the education of young women for over a century, the Ramona community is committed to maintaining this position by encouraging each student to reach her full potential as a spiritual, caring, independent, cultured, confident, and well-education young woman with an understanding and appreciation of the diverse cultures that make up the school and world communities..
Ramona is part of the SNJM Network of Schools an association of seven all girls’ high schools sponsored by the Sisters of the Holy Names in Washington, Oregon, California, Florida, New York and Manitoba (Canada). All share the charism of our foundress, Blessed Marie Rose Durocher and her passion for the education of young women. This year we at Ramona are happy to host the group and to be able to share first hand our new science building and the other wonderful things happening her at Ramona.
In being asked to describe Ramona, our students most often use the term “family,” which is indicative of the close relationship that exists among the students. Furthermore, they characterize their teachers as well-prepared, caring, and supportive. Communication is essential to maintaining this caring and friendly environment; this new website provides another means for our message to reach you. . .and for you to keep in touch with us. Whether your visit to Ramona’s campus is virtual or real, I know that you will experience a dynamic learning community and want to learn more about our school. Please know that your feed back and your questions are most welcome.
Sincerely,
Sister Kathleen Callaway
President
