SOMETHING BIG IS HAPPENING - AT RAMONA AND BEYOND

We're going to share how incredible Ramona and others in the Archdiocese of LA are. But before that happens, we need some feedback (and there are great prizes).

First - we need to hear from YOU. The goal of the survey is to better understand what you value the most in your daughter's education, and the results will be used to help understand why you chose Ramona and make improvements for the future.

Second - we need to hear from your friends, especially your peer parents with school-aged children who do not attend a
Catholic School. We need to understand what they value in the education of their children. Please text and email this survey to your friends, and share it on your social media channels.

If our school is one of the top 3 schools to have the most Catholic parents in the LA, Santa Barbara, or Ventura counties
complete the survey - we could win a grant up to $3,000. So, please share with any Catholic parent in our area you can
think of!

We greatly appreciate your support!

P.S. One family will receive a $500 Amazon Gift card for completing the full survey - that could be you! Thank you for your feedback!

EXCITING STUDENT NEWS

All of us on campus know sophomore Aelena Gillies as the drummer for our liturgical music celebrations. Her passion for music includes The Killers rock band who played last Thursday, February 1, at the Staples Center. Aelena went to the concert with a sign in hand asking to play drums on stage with her favorite band. She was chosen and became the first young person and female to ever land this opportunity. When asked about the experience, Aelena shared that having music somehow in her life - whether teaching music lessons or playing live in a band, or something in between, music is IT for her. It's what she wants to do for the rest of her life. She glowed as she continued to talk about music. Click the image above to see a video of her playing with flair to the packed stadium of 21,000 fans. Enjoy!

UPDATES FROM THE GUIDANCE & COLLEGE COUNSELING DEPARTMENT

ATTENTION ALL 9TH AND 10TH GRADE PARENTS:

Last week, Ms. Tappan conducted a workshop on building a resume through the family connection portal in Naviance with each freshman and sophomore.  This will be a useful tool as she continues throughout Ramona to help better prepare for summer programs, internships, and applying to college.  If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Tappan (ktappan@ramonaconvent.org).

ATTENTION ALL 9TH GRADE 11TH GRADE PARENTS:

PSAT scores were distributed to your daughter during advising period last week.  Their PSAT summary report will allow students access to various resources to further enhance their preparation.  All juniors received more SAT resources on Monday during advising with Mr. Chavarria.  If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Chavarria (achavarria@ramonaconvent.org) or Ms. Tappan (ktappan@ramonaconvent.org).

ATTENTION ALL 11TH GRADE PARENTS:

Mr. Chavarria recently took all juniors to the computer lab to begin formulating a college list via the family connection portal in Naviance.  Students have access to Scattergrams, which is a program that allows your daughter to see statistics of other Ramona graduates who applied to these same colleges/universities.  This program allows them to better understand what is needed to be granted admission to the school of their choice.

UPCOMING TEST DATES:

SAT - March 10th (registration deadline is February 9th)

ACT - April 14th (registration deadline is March 9th)
