RCSS News & Events

On Friday, October 28, Ramona's Chamber Singers participated in the Inaugural Women's Choir Festival, hosted by Mayfield Senior School.  In the sanctuary at La Canada Presbyterian Church, choral students from four all-girls' schools came together to share their music and then perform together.  Our clinician was the wonderful Lori Marie Rios, an L.A. based choral professor, who worked with each ensemble after they had presented an individual set.  At the festival's conclusion, all 90+ singers combined to sing an absolutely beautiful piece called "Will There Really Be a Morning?"

Senior Emma Frias, Chamber Singers Council President, shared "the 1st annual Fall Women's Choral Festival was motivating to me because I was able to meet other choirs, learn with them, and experience having a different conductor. These events tend to help motivate me to expand my love for music and teach me to never quit on things I love."

It was a privilege for Ramona's Chamber Singers to be part of this event, which will be held every year.  Although we were small in number, Ramona's Chamber Singers were extremely expressive, and represented Ramona with grace and style.  As Ms. Rios put it in her adjudication notes, Ramona's Chamber Singers are doing "all the right stuff!"
