PROM 2017

Image

Ah, prom……it's an event that many students think about, dream about, and anticipate. This past Friday, Ramona juniors and seniors enjoyed an evening full of joy, laughter, and fond sentiments at their prom.  Located at Noor in the beautiful Paseo Colorado, attendees enjoyed a spectacular night of dining and dancing. Our young ladies looked stunning as they indulged in what is the last Ramona prom for some. We would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Laura Dumas, the Prom Committee, and especially to the chaperones that stayed up way past their bedtime to ensure that our guests were safe and cared for on their special evening.

DRAMA CLASS LEARNS ARTISTIC SET-DESIGN TECHNIQUES

Image

Ms. Clavin's A block Drama class recently participated in an artistic constructive project for their set design unit. The ongoing project was a step-by-step process that transformed a piece of cardboard into a realistic looking brick wall that can be used on stage in a Drama production.

They began by preparing the surface to look like mortar using two colors of gray and a stumbling technique. The next step employed a spattering technique with two additional shades of gray. The spatter adds "grain and grit" texture to the "mortar." Painting highlights and shadows then enhances the 3-D form of bricks. Color spatter technique was applied to add texture to the bricks.

One student shared that "it's fun to get outside the classroom and get dirty to learn about all the techniques of set design."
