Fr. Greg Boyle

Compassion and kinship with people on the margins were the powerful themes of Fr. Greg Boyle's presentation to the student body on Monday. We also welcomed guests from All Souls World Language School, Our Lady of Guadalupe - Rose Hill, St. Alphonsus, St. Hilary, and St. Vincent. The founder of Homeboys Industries, Fr. Greg has worked to stop gang violence by providing jobs and other critical services to former gang members since 1988. Speaking with him were two young women who shared their stories of growth and healing through the support of the Homeboys community. Fr. Greg called on our students "to go forth from Ramona as witnesses of kindness." He reminded the audience, "Each of you is exactly what God had in mind when he made you." After the presentation, senior Izel V. shared "Fr. Greg taught us that second chances matter and should be given because we all have something to offer in this world. Everybody matters."
