Light the Field
Thanks to the generosity of alumnae, parents, and friends we were able to complete the first phase of our project to upgrade Ramona’s athletic facilities. The “Beat the Heat” campaign generated the funds to install much needed air-conditioning in the gym. Additional funds from our building reserve enabled us the paint the gym and install the new floor.
We are now ready to embark on Phase 3 – Light the Field. The field receives the most use in the fall and winter when Daylight Savings Time is “off.” It gets dark very early, thereby limited practice time, as well as the afterschool window to complete a full soccer of softball game. The safety of our athletes, coaches, faculty and spectators leaving the games is also a concern. Installing dual use sports field lights to serve both soccer and softball practice and games would increase safety and allow for more use of the field.
This final phase of athletic renovations is estimated to cost approximately $275,000 and is beyond Ramona’s operational budget.
Your help is needed now!
